A few days ago I finally finished my swap ornaments and send them out to all participants. I made these small stockings.

I like to recycle or use whatever I have lying around, so for my ornaments I used a leftover piece of oilcloth, an old brown envelope, a bit of netting from a mandarine crate, a small piece of red felt, 2 different ribbons I bought at a christmas sale last year and small beige buttons from my button stash.

I made a little tutorial if you are interested in making some yourself, To make my little christmas stockings you can use whatever you prefer like felt, linen, cotton or even paper.

Save the template below (right click and use save picture as to save it to your harddrive). Print and cut out all pieces.

I used to have this tutorial about needlefelting a little dog available for free, but due to the fact I moved to another provider and changed my domainname a year ago it wasn't available anymore.

A while ago I took pictures to make a tutorial about cutting up plastic bags to make yarn. Finally did something with them... ;0)

Een tweede uitleg over het maken van plastic garen van dunne boodschappentasjes.

Another way to make plastic yarn using thinner bags.

Het tasje tweemaal in de lengte dubbelvouwen en handgrepen en onderzijde eraf knippen. Vervolgens in 1,5 cm brede strips knippen.

Fold the bag to the side twice. Cut of handles and bottom and cut the rest of the bag in 1,5 cm stripes.

Bevestig de lussen aan elkaar door de ene lus door een andere te halen en deze vervolgens weer door de eigen lus te halen. Voorzichtig aantrekken.

Attach strips together using one loopstrip put that through the loop of another stripe followed by pulling it through it's own loop and carefully pul until it's knotted together.

Take a bit of wool in nice colors, a felting needle and not shown but preferable a punchingmat. Take a wisp of wool, roll up en start punching it with the feltingneedle over and over... until a nice eggshape appears. Take little wisps of different colors and punch it right into the place you want it. Use your imagination for a nice color-combinations and attach a little bit of rope for hanging and maybe some beads for extra decoration.
