I'm not much a believer in new years planning. For instance the times I planned to quit smoking starting januari first of the new year are several and it never lasted long. I did quit smoking two years ago but that decision was made somewhere in october. Anyway since I was a bit of a bad blogger the last months of 2005 I am planning to improve this year, so that will be my only new years planning;0)

This is a wallpaper I made to be on my desktop this month.

Just to show that I'm not the only creative soul in the house. Some work from the lights of my life.

Marjolein made this lovely dancer at a workshop at school. It's made of wax and I'm concidering to take it to be casted into bronze. I heared at keramikos wich is a Ceramic centre, there's a workplace somewere in the industrial zone. However the guy I spoke to didn't exactly know where...

Anyway I bought some ceramic paste their because I'm considering to make ceramics bases to combine with my needlefelt. I think that would be a great combination the softness of the wool with hardness of the ceramics. I also bought some more wax for Marjolein so hopefully she will make some more items.

And the funny heads are from Sander . He made them with the ceramic clay I bought. Somehow he's always very unsecure about his skills, I don't know why because I think he did a wonderfull job. When they are dried I am going to bring them to the centre to be baked. So he can paint them with ceramic paint afterwards.

Last week I went to the center of commerce in my hometown and as of Januari 1st 1006 I'm registered as Mariek©Uniek. I am planning to combine webdesign with graphic- and needlefelt- designs and want to give both webdesign (wich I already do) as well as creative/needlefelt classes.

Ofcourse I need to write an official businessplan but for myself I desided to make an "creativeplan" wich will be a combination of spreads , writing down idea's, doodles, inspirational photo's and writtendown reactions from my customers and students. It's going to be my "you grow girl" book.

In between everything else I am working on a little clown. At first I though it was going be a clown-guy but it more and more feels like it should be a girl so instead of a parthly bald head I added more hair and ponytails. Not sure yet if she will get trousers or a skirt...

I also am a bit sad about missing My little Mochi's - postcard swap. I had so much fun the last time but because of the overwhelming response she closed it up early. Maybe I should start up a swap myself for those who (like me) were to late to participate. What do you think?

Don't you hate those days... You wake up early, it's Sunday-morning wich means you could sleep say until eleven or so (well at least a bit longer than usual), but you just can't sleep anymore even if you want to?

This morning was just like that. I woke up at 7.30 and my mind kept spinning and spinning and so I got out of bed and started the day needlefelting the lady at the side. It took me 5,5 hours to finish her. And I'm still not sure she finished since she doesn't have a set of udders. What you think shall I add them or not?

And when I opened my mailbox this afternoonI found an email from Myra telling me I could participate in the postcardswap. I'm so :0))

Don't ask me why..I'm stil in Cow-mode ;0)

And this is me 27 years later with my babygirl. She's 15 and a half now and bigger than me even without her high-heels.

Did I mention I'm in the middle of starting my own business? Well I am .

It's going to be a designstudio for web and graphic design and I'm also going to design needlefelt packages wich will be available trough creative courses and a webshop.

At this point I'm in the middle of designing my business website. I am making a banner wich will be used for the website as well as the webshop and the little animation above will be part of that. I wanted it to be in a graphical style with a wink at living in Holland and working with wool. So a windmill and sheep would cover that don't you think? Ofcourse I could also add some wooden shoes, but let's not go over the top....;0)

I made 10 of these for the New Years Postcard Swap. Was nice to do some mixed media again! Go check and see Myra's doggiestamp it's absolutely adorable!

Tonight I'm of to see a musical at tmy kids school and promised myself to go straight to bed afterwards and not stay behind my computer past midnight for a change.
